Coolness Roundup #126- Net Neutrality and Daylight Saving Time

The Gurus are might grumpy this week!
First, Stephen brings up the topic of Net Neutrality again and is irate that the U.S. is ranked 16th in the world when it comes to broadband speeds. He believes the Telcos, RIAA, and MPAA are applying pressure to stifle innovation and bandwidth increase all under the guise of piracy.
Then Charlie has an issue with Daylight Saving Time pointing to a study from Indiana that shows energy consumption actually increased 8% since the government implemented its new Daylight Saving Policy. The gurus both wonder why we are still using this antiquated time keeping method when changes in how citizens use electricity, and improvements in farm technology make DST obsolete.
The duo wrap up the show with their Rapid Fire Roundup of Cool Products they’ve seen during the week.

Hey guys. Normally – I love the podcast. Good info, good products, good rants, etc… And yet, this episode left me wanting in so many ways. I listen to the coolnes roundup for info and updates about cool gadgets, electronics, computers, and technology. And, although the political rants about Daylight Saving Time and Net Neutrality have a place here, they certainly didn’t deserve an entire podcast devoted to them. Not cool.
